An established and growing international education group in Tokyo is seeking a Head of Accounting to lead its accounting function during an exciting period of organizational growth and transformation. Following a recent merger, the group now generates approximately JPY 4B in annual revenue, serves 3,800+ students, and operates multiple campuses across the Tokyo metropolitan area. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a key role in strengthening the accounting organization and supporting future business growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close
• Manage consolidated accounting and group reporting
• Oversee statutory disclosures and external audits
• Resolve technical accounting matters under J-GAAP
• Improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Build and develop the accounting organization

Requirements

• Strong experience leading financial close and consolidated accounting
• Ownership of statutory disclosure documents
• Experience managing external audits
• Team management and accounting process improvement
• Strong J-GAAP knowledge

Preferred

• Head of Accounting experience in a listed or pre-IPO company
• IPO and J-SOX experience
• CPA or Tax Accountant qualification
• Experience building finance organizations
