We are partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed technology company building an AI-powered data platform transforming a core global industry. With operations expanding across Japan, the US, and ASEAN, the company is scaling rapidly and investing heavily in its product engineering organization. As part of this growth, they are establishing a next-generation product team operating like an internal startup—focused on launching new applications on top of a powerful core platform handling large-scale engineering, document, and supply chain data. This is a unique opportunity to join at a critical stage: the product has reached initial build, and the team is now preparing for full-scale global release. Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer in Test, you will play a central role in shaping QA strategy and execution within a high-performing, product-driven engineering team. Working closely with engineers, product managers, and QA leadership, you will design and implement scalable testing frameworks, embed quality into the development lifecycle, and support rapid, high-quality product releases. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong hands-on testing expertise with a mindset for automation, system design, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable automated testing frameworks across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers
• Define and drive QA strategy, including test coverage, quality metrics, and risk-based testing approaches
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and automation suites in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Lead defect management, including root cause analysis and actionable reporting
• Improve system testability by influencing architecture and development practices
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable releases
• Promote QA best practices and foster a quality-first engineering culture
• Evaluate and introduce tools to enhance automation and efficiency
• Balance automated and exploratory testing to maximize product quality

Requirements

• ~5+ years of experience in QA engineering or software testing roles
• Strong hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks
• Background in software development (7+ years preferred)
• Experience designing test strategies and managing defect lifecycles
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies and best practices

Preferred Experience

• Experience in large-scale or distributed systems environments
• Background in SaaS or web-based product development
• Experience working in Agile development teams
• Prior experience as a software engineer
• Japanese language ability (business level or above)
