Job Description: Human Capital Executive (Tokyo) We are seeking a Human Capital Executive to join a small, high-performing HR team in Tokyo. This is a broad, hands-on generalist role supporting the full employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on junior to mid-level employees. Given the lean team structure, this role offers significant ownership and exposure across HR operations, employee relations, and recruitment within an international environment. Key Responsibilities ■ HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes from an employee experience perspective
  • Coordinate probation reviews, internal transfers, and exits
  • Support preparation and administration of employment contracts and related documentation
■ Employee Support & Relations
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Handle routine employee relations matters for junior to mid-level staff
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately and support resolution
■ Recruitment
  • Lead recruitment activities for junior to mid-level positions (VP level and below)
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support hiring needs
■ Compliance & Policy
  • Ensure HR practices are aligned with Japanese labor laws and internal policies
  • Support internal audits and policy updates
■ Projects & Initiatives
  • Contribute to Human Capital initiatives and process improvements
  • Support ad hoc HR projects as required
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5–10 years of experience in a Human Capital / HR role
  • Strong understanding of HR operations and employee lifecycle management

  • Japanese: Native or business-fluent (written and spoken)
  • English: Business-fluent (written and spoken)

  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving capability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); HR systems experience is a plus
  • Experience working in an international or bilingual corporate environment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams
  • Calm, flexible, and solutions-oriented mindset
