Description
An internationally recognized innovation platform is seeking a Marketing Director to lead its marketing strategy and brand presence across Japan.
This organization brings together startups, global enterprises, investors, universities, government organizations, and innovation leaders through premium workspaces, accelerator programs, and innovation consulting services. Following significant growth in Japan, the business is entering its next phase of expansion and is looking for a marketing leader who can shape strategy, build a high-performing function, and elevate brand awareness across multiple business lines.
This is more than a traditional marketing role. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to define go-to-market strategy, strengthen the company’s positioning in Japan, and build a scalable marketing function that supports future regional expansion.
Why This Role?
- Lead marketing strategy for one of Japan’s most influential innovation ecosystems.
- Partner directly with executive leadership on business growth and market expansion.
- Build and shape the marketing function during a key stage of company growth.
- Own both strategic planning and execution across multiple business units.
- Collaborate with global teams while driving initiatives tailored to the Japanese market.
- Work with leading startups, multinational corporations, venture capital firms, universities, and public-sector organizations.
- Opportunity to build and mentor a growing marketing team over time.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive B2B marketing strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead go-to-market planning for new initiatives, services, and business expansion.
- Drive brand positioning and increase market awareness across multiple customer segments.
- Manage marketing budgets and measure ROI across all campaigns.
- Oversee digital marketing initiatives including website strategy, SEO, analytics, email marketing, CRM, and lead generation.
- Develop lead nurturing strategies that improve conversion throughout the sales funnel.
- Partner with external agencies, PR firms, and creative vendors to deliver high-quality campaigns.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across business development, operations, and executive leadership.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to influence business strategy.
- Define KPIs, report marketing performance, and continuously optimize marketing effectiveness.
- Contribute to annual business planning and long-term growth initiatives.
